Leuven International Forum

On 1 June, KU Leuven, the city of Leuven, the province of Vlaams Brabant and Chamber of Commerce Leuven held the first Leuven International Forum: Networking for knowledge and society.
The event brought together representatives from the highest circles of diplomacy, the international institutions in Brussels and the political and business world. As part of the event, the university recognised seven distinguished individuals for leadership and contributions in the fields of politics, culture, sports, innovation and research: Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council, Jacques Rogge, President of the International Olympic Committee, Navanethem Pillay, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Helga Nowotny, President of the European Research Council, James (Jim) Utterback, professor and knowledge transfer pioneer, Maestro Christian Thielemann, renowned conductor and Aubert de Villaine, co-owner and co-director of the Romanée-Conti vineyard in Burgundy, France.
KU Leuven honours seven exemplars of excellence
