LERU Rectors’ Assembly hosted by Universitat de Barcelona
16 May 2012
On 11 May 2012, the 22nd LERU Rectors’ Assembly took place at the Universtat de Barcelona.
The Rectors’ Assembly is the highest decision-making body of the organisation, which meets twice a year each time at a different member institution. During the meeting the Rectors discussed several issues, such as the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), an agreement between LERU and the European Commission (EC) with specific commitments aimed at speeding up the realisation of the European Research Area (ERA). They also discussed several LERU papers under preparation.
The Assembly was attended by the President of Arizona State University, Prof. Michael Crow, who gave a talk entitled: “Massive change: designing new public universities for the United States and elsewhere”.
