Launch event - Research assessment paper

On Tuesday 19 June 2012 the League of European Research Universities will launch its new position paper 'Research universities and research assessment'.
This paper analyses what LERU universities consider to be the rationale for assessment, the internal and external drivers, the users and usages, the “pros and cons” and pitfalls, the variety of metrics used, different national and international models and emerging trends such as the increasingly important area of “impact”.
Finally, recommendations are given for the users of university research assessment, namely universities and researchers themselves, as well as governments, funders and other external agencies.
LERU invites you to discuss the paper with policy makers and stakeholders on Tuesday 19 June 2012 in Brussels.
